Day 12 after LAVH and some questions

Well, so far everything has gone smoothly. The surgery took 3 1/2 hours, my uterus was larger than a football and was removed mostly using a morcellator and my vagina received some abraisons from the coloptomizer . I spent the night in the hospital and went home the next day, they pawned a various assortment of pain killers off on me and all I needed was extra strength advil for the first couple of days home, my reasoning being the pain wasn't half as bad as my cramps were so I rather be completely aware to my body while healing because it was manageable.

My little incisions seem to be healing nicely, I'm still suffering from major swelly belly and it's rather uncomfortable to venture to the bathroom, but out of curiosity last night, I managed to acheive an O without problems.

For my sisters on here that have had an LAVH, how long after was it no longer uncomfortable for your bladder and bowels to empty (I know everyone is different) also is there anything I can do to speed up the reduction of swelly belly?

I can't wait for my 6 week post-op to come, I want to be fully active again.

I had a bladder infection at about your stage so can't really speak about bladder/bowel issues but it was a lot better when that cleared up shall we say!!! Remember to start walking a bit each day and drink lots of water.

Swelly belly- I had that for some weeks. I still feel a bit swollen at the end of a long day. My understanding is there isn't a lot you can do except rest, it isn't lack of exercise. There were times when my little incisions felt a bit sore and on those days i wore very loose clothes again even when I could fit in my jeans!
