Change with appetite and fluids

I used to love a glass of wine or a beer, but all i ever want to drink is water. Almost 3 weeks now and still no wine for me..I have lost 10 lbs and food is so unappealing. Tonight was saltines and water for dinner.
When do things come back together or look appealing again?

Re: Change with appetite and fluids

I'm still drinking 5 liters of water a day! I'm at 3 weeks now and I have good days and bad days with the appetite still. Are you still on pain meds? They can affect your appetite. I eat small meals as often as possible. Granola bars and special k protien bars are keeping me alive some days, though.

Re: Change with appetite and fluids

Healing bodies want healthy things. My appetite changed quite a bit post op. I craved healthy foods and could (and still) only eat small portions, anymore I just fill up and get bloated. My taste was altered for about three weeks or so due to the meds I'm certain. Little by little, my tastes have returned to normal but I no longer devour chocolate like a feind. I've lost almost 40lbs now. My hyster was 10/20/11. I was an almost nightly cocktail girl pre hyster. I'm just now drinking beer etc again but not as often. I think the pre op me was just so unhealthy and now I feel so great and my body like great things now. I have no complaints.

Re: Change with appetite and fluids

I'm almost 9 weeks post op, and my food portions are still very small compared to before the op. I just eat a little and my stomach blows up so quickly. My weight unfortunately has not changed one bit . I have no desire for my half glass of wine at dinner time and water for me to is a must. But.... For me the only craving I have is chocolate which before I never touched!
You see, I guess we are all different.
