LAVH Sisters out there 4 weeks PO
Hi ladies although almost all of these threads have been a great help to me I am looking for someone who had a LAVH as i think we may heel, feel , and have diiferent questions. Ex. I have three tiny(1.5 in) incisions as opposed to the full abdominal incision, one of the three being in my belly button. I have my appointment on Thurs. hoping to get released back to work because I am bored..I am a teller manager so yes I stand alot but my co workers are supportive and I will be sitting as much as possible. I am not very good at just staying home and resting although I have obeyed rules no lifting no major housework, I wash dishes, laundry, cook(but I love to cook and when I go back to work my dh does alot of the cooking)Have very little spotting if any, had some minor cramping , occasionally have a strange twinge inside that goes away in a sec. Any one else out there feeling similar..LOL this site has helped me understand my self more and now I know I am not the only one.

LAVH Sisters out there 4 weeks PO
Hello. I'm 3 weeks post op with a LAVH/BOS and I'm feeling pretty good also. I've not had bleeding....just a little brown staining when I do too much. We have a small business and I'm the office manager so I'm back at my desk in the mornings. My main complaint is my belly swelling especially toward the end of the day but I posted yesterday about this and I'm assured that it is the tissues healing and it will eventually go away. I'm glad you are doing as well as I am.

You have the same stitches on the inside so don't over do it. I could stand long before I could sit comfortably. I could also walk but wasn't too happy being a passenger in a car until week 5. I was lucky to have no spotting but the other items you are feeling at 4 weeks seems to be the settling going on inside and will go away soon enough.
By the end of the 1st week I felt so much better that I wanted to take over the world and even worked a convention. That feeling lasted until week 4 when my hormones felt like they took a dive and I physically overdid it with a family funeral and traveling.
Once I hit week 4 my body changed and I got fatigued...it turned out that I had a mild thyroid problem. I've been too tired to restart my yoga as of yet but I'm trying to be more physically active each day after my week 4 relapse in to sleepy time .
I know it may seem boring without work but there are things that you can do for yourself during this time away from work. I've been volunteering (because I can set my hours, have shorter shifts, and take breaks) to feel like I'm still busy/active.
Some people need 4wks to recover, most need 6wks, and others need longer depending on their health and hormones. Talk to your doctor to find what is right for you.

LAVH Sisters out there 4 weeks PO
Hi Sisters,
I had LAVH on July 21st and I had been feeling really good up until the first day of my 3rd week. I had no bleeding at all, and was up and about with no pain meds within 3 days. Now I'm really tired and have had some abdominal pain as well. It fits right with the date of my last period so I'm assuming that's what it is. PMS....ARGH!!! I also got my monthly migraine yesterday. I did do a little too much last week, but nothing stupid....just more than I had been doing.
Have any of you had PMS symptoms? Do they get any better? I'm sure hoping so!
Take good care,

My doc mentioned that it would take my body a few months to "forget" that I didn't need to have a period anymore. The body gets so set in a hormonal routine that it's hard to break. My PMS symptoms are still there (down to the monthly migraines and acne) but I'd choose that over hot flashes and night sweats any day.

I'm approach 5 weeks, still get tired, like today, yesterday, I zoomed all day 6am - 10pm, today...very tired, starting walking last nite, but I have been doing most everything except vacuum, went for a walk today. I have only left ovary remain, have hot flashes, kinda bored, but don't want to push it back to work cuz once I'm there it's no turning back ...on my feet for 10 hr days I work at an airport so it's airplane doors, luggage and tons of walking.....best to all happy healing!!!!

LAVH Sisters out there 4 weeks PO
Hello LAVH Sisters, I love this sight! But finally a few sisters with the same operation....I feel I cant relate to some of the sisters with TAH;
I have had a few symptoms too, and I called the doc, and just like you said, it will take your body awhile to get used to it.. I hope the sore breasts, sore tummy and the tiredness goes away.. as far as the migraines, I would do hot flashes over those ANYTIME... I have had only one headache, and I believe that it was from the thunderstorm......
Now, I am at 2 1/2 weeks...I felt great at first, yet, now that I am back to work (only deskwork) I am noticing that I get soooooo exhausted, all of a sudden too....so, hopefully things will be fine soon, I dont think that my dh realizes that we can go backwards in our progress....but he is pretty understanding..
Hugs to all
LAVH July 27; took right ovary, age 40..

hey do remember that even though we have small outside incisisons, we have the same inside incisions. I'm approaching 7 weeks and I'm still finding myself exhausted and internally sore at the end of light work days. Don't rush your recovery!!
