Re: Question that came up today

At my 2 week appointment my doctor told me that he took 4 ligaments (one under each rib and one by each hip area) and pulled them in tight to hold everything in place, he said that once they were holding things up he cut them short (didnt need the full length of ligaments) and said that was why I felt some pulling in different areas. He told me that I have to be careful not to lift anything because I could pull a ligament and they could detatch before it was fully healed (around the 6 month point).

I dont think this is the normal for everyone, I had a prolapsed uterus and adhesions from my c-secion that fused my bladder to my pelvic wall (and to the uterus) and my lower bowels to my uterus. They did quite a bit of repair. I also had TAH/BSO so everything was removed.

I am not trying to scare anyone but wanted to say that I think they do whatever is needed to make sure that everything inside is fully supported. I dont think I felt any extra pain from having all that done compared to the typical TAH, I just felt like everything was tight inside. I guess it is good in one way, it makes everything tighter in my stomach area so that helps me look like my stomach is smaller then it was.

Make sure to ask your doctor what they do but like I said I am pretty sure they make sure everything is fully supported before they are done.
