What to order before going to castle

I'm confused about the Swelly Belly band. If I have LAVH w/ ant/post repair... do I go vertical or horizontal? And does it also help with overall posture?

What to order before going to castle

I had a TVH and didn't need a swelly belly band. The only time I need a little support is when I'm in bed-I like propping pillows behind my back and under my tummy.

I think the swelly belly band is for relief and comfort because of the staples that cause the swelling. And for support. You put it in the freezer, I think. I havent gotten one yet, but thinking about it. I'm having a tah in 3 days! Right now I'm just concentrating on staying healthy and away from people that may be sick. I dont want to take any chances of having my surgery cancelled. Good luck on your surgery and take good care of yourself!!

My surgery is in 3 days. I think I'm going to order the "swelly belly band" today.

Gordonk - At your pre-op consultation your doctor will let you know as to what incision (horizontal or vertical) will be made. My doctor told me last Wednesday (pre-op appt.) that my incision will be vertical.

ETA: I ordered it!!!

Boy the time is going by fast!

What to order before going to castle

I ordered my swell belly band on Friday after my pre-op. My doctor told me that the incision would be horizontal. My surgery (TAH/BSO) is on Thursday morning so I am hoping to have it for when I come home. Good luck to everyone!

What to order before going to castle

I just ordered the swelly belly band. I didn't know I was getting an abdominal incision until after the fact . I think it will help when I'm walking. Right now I have to hold my tummy as I'm walking with my hands . I know I will need it for when I go back to work to wear under my clothes .
I also had my DH run out the first day I was home from the hospital to buy me a grabber stick from the drugstore. I use that alot. Really comes in handy

I'll have the puncture holes from the laprascope and don't expect others. He's removing everything vaginally. Am I off base?
