Re: worried sick

I'll be going tomorrow. And I've been somewhat quiet all day, on the computer playing games. I finished up my recovery room, vacuumed cleaned the bathrooms. Went and ran some errands. Cooked my last meal for the family for a little while. All of this while running back and forward to the bathroom. Everything is going to be fine. Take 3 deep breaths close your eyes and think of Good thoughts. O. almost forgot I know the no smoking has to be hard.

Re: worried sick

What you are feeling is perfectly normal- many of us have felt much the same way you do at this time.

The good news is that the worst part IS the waiting. You are almost there! I found what helped me was getting myself and my house organized, packing what I needed, exercising and walking our dogs with DH and listening to a visual imagery download on my Ipod. One of my friends here got a massage a day or so before her surgery-great idea!.

You trust your doctor and/or surgeon- you are in capable and excellent hands. My medical team was outstanding both in their personal and technical skills. I wish the same or better for you!

Good luck with your surgery and we will be here ready to welcome you to the other side... Hugs...

Re: worried sick

Let those around you know you are worried, frightened, nicotine deprived. Tell them you do not mean to be snappy or grouchy and are trying hard to behave. Waiting is so hard, try to be kind to yourself. Hang in there

Re: worried sick

Hi, I had my TAH on the 21st. I admit I was very scared but I didn't share that with anyone. I smoked my face off the morning of the surgery right up to when my DH dropped me off at the hospital doors. If you are feeling somewhat grumpy I'm sure the people who love you understand, let them know you are afraid they won't totally understand you but they may be able to support you! You will be okay sweetie, be gentle with yourself.
