1 week post-op and can't sleep!

I had a total LAVH one week ago. Doc prescribed Lupron Depo 30 days ago in hopes it would ease the pelvic pain due to Pelvic Congestion, Endo etc. I am now exhausted from the hormonal changes and surgery on top of it...can anyone give pointers on where to begin to at least help the night sweats/hot flashes? I need to return to work next week and need the rest!

Re: 1 week post-op and can't sleep!

Sorry Newrunner. No words of advice here, just sympathy. I had a TAH-BSO in June and because of cancer, am doing the change w/o HRT. Flashes and night sweats are part of my life now. I just think to myself now that it's better than having cancer!

Good luck to you and I hope the wise women here can help you.

Hi (((newrunner)))

I am glad that you have decided to join us!

I had luck using an otc progesterone cream for my menopausal symptoms post op. You may also want to check out the Chillow. If you scroll down this page you will see a link to check it out. Some women also like Black Cohosh supplements to help with hot flashes. Hope whatever you choose brings relief for you. Please keep us updated if you can. Take care!

Re: 1 week post-op and can't sleep!

I was having night sweats (drenched pjs at 2am) and started taking Red Clover as the product Promensil. Haven't had the sweats since. I also feel more balanced. My ovaries were preserved but I think they are in shock. Also just gone off low dose oral contraceptive. Perhaps the Promensil can help you some. Best of luck.
