Problem with period during surgery?

Yes, just my luck. My surgery is Friday, and my period started today. Yuk. Is this going to be a problem, or cause a delay?

I hope not!!

Any advice?

Problem with period during surgery?

Hi Bikerlady,
I had mine just before surgery. As it was so unpredictable, I asked the doctor and she said it won't matter. She said they can do the surgery anyway. I know some of the ladies here were on their period when they had their surgery. You can call the Doc and ask but, I don't think it will cause a delay. Good luck! Let us know how you are doing afterwards. You will be in my prayers on Friday.

Period

I know how you feel uck. I started yesturday and I called the doctor on the way home he is just so nice. He ask me why we would cancel the surgery when he does them for that reason when women sometimes dont even quit bleeding.

I have a period that last seven days off 2 days and back to the seven days of I use about 8 to 10 tampons and double that with pads just so i can go to work. sorry so graphic.

but they prob wont cancel but call and advise them what is going on anyway be on the safe side.

will be praying for you

period during surgery

I scheduled my surgery expecting my period to be over by then, but it started late and was still going strong that morning. The nurses just gave me a big pad and a pair of disposable hospital panties, and the surgery proceeded as scheduled. Good luck!

Problem with period during surgery?

Hi Bikerlady,
My period started right before surgery (and I was a heavy bleeder). I was uncomfortable at first but after I spoke to the doctor and his office assistants, they assured me that it would be fine.

After awhile, I smiled when I thought of "THIS IS THE LAST ONE"!

Everything went well.

Mine struck right before surgery, too! I had asked ahead about that possibility, and it wasn't a problem. Everyone was very nice and understanding about it, and I was very happy that it was my last one!

Being on your period during surgery is no problem. I was on mine and after surgery I never bled another drop. So weird but so nice!!! It will be fine. Dont worry and good luck!!
