polyps developing..why?

I am 12 wks. post TAH and have had a good, basically uneventful recovery. I've been feeling much better than before surgery. I've just discovered some lumps or growths in my vagina that I don't think were there before. I'm assuming they are polyps. Should I go see my gyn.? Will they go away? From what I've read they are usually benign. What causes them to develop? Could my hormones influence this? I still have my ovaries. Any input would be helpful. Thanks... Love this site!!

polyps developing..why?

Dear Con Amour,
I think that Yes, you should get to see your doctor.
As you said, polyps are generally benign... but you don't know if they are polyps..... for your own safety and peace of mind, yes... call the dr.

I don't know what causes polyps to develop, but I know I got at least 1 on my cervix just after I started taking some hormone pills for controlling excessive bleeding --??coincidence?? I couldn't say, but it happened.

please let us know what happens!
