Embarrassing question

Hello,
I'm embarrassed to ask this, but here goes:
A day or so after I came home (had TAH on Tues., came home Thurs.), I felt some discomfort, went to the bathroom, and discovered my clitoris was GINORMOUS! It stuck out, and felt quite thick, too. It itched somewhat, and when I itched (I wore a pad), it would leave a small amount of blood on the pad. Nothing heavy, just small spotting. In fact, the only spotting I've had, I think. It's been 13 days now, and it has diminished greatly. I have been drinking cranberry juice and taking a probiotic daily since then. Could it be an infection? It was just so weird; it didn't itch inside, just there. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Embarrassing question

Casey, I have no idea what this could be, but I'd be asking my doctor about it, just in case!

Embarrassing question

It's possible to have had a slight yeast infection on the outside. Have you tried using plain yougurt? (actually putting it ON your clitoris/labia - if needed there) NOTHING feels better on itchy nethers then cold yogurt.

Embarrassing question

Before attempting to self medicate, please call your dr. Most drs do not want you to use ANYTHING anywhere near the vagina for many weeks after a hyst. Best wishes!

Embarrassing question

hee hee hee :-)
Thank you for the replies. Since it's getting better, I'll probably just ask about it at my follow up on the 21st. I did call the office and talk to the nurse, and she said it might be a yeast infection, but I didn't know you could get a yeast infection just on the outside. I was hoping there were others around that this had happened to, and they had just been too embarrassed to ask about it! :-) Thanks for the tip on the yogurt, too! Excellent idea. And I like that it's natural.
