20 days post hysterectomy - needing to reach for pain meds again - worried won't be ready for work come February

Hi ladies,
Well i felt pretty darn good in week 2 post op
Now onto week 3 and i'm feeling sore internally, needing to reach for pain meds again. sigh
Also having to cancel commitments I made last week when I was feeling so good!
I'm struggling to just rest, while my bills are still coming and I'm starting to feel financial pressure coming our way.
We have budgeted so that I do not have to work the month of January, but I guess i 'm a little worried that I won't be ready come Feb.
anyone else in this boat. ?
thanks

Julie

As we tend to start feeling better around week 2, we take on more, resuming more activities and sometimes experience what feels like a set back.
Don't feel discouraged, you're more than likely to feel much better at the end of January, just listen to you body.

Around 3-4 weeks is also when stitches start to dissolve, and a notable number of Sisters will tell you that it feels like taking a step backward in that week.

It helps to understanding healing. Healing is not all about the initial scar tissue getting stronger with time. Instead, earlier scar tissue dissolves as it's replaced by newer scar tissue. That's when we're likely to feel twinges and zingers, and also when we're more likely to stretch or rupture something, especially as we start doing more like GPMS said. That's why it's still so important to take rest breaks and not be "full on" all the time.

Rest and heal well!
