exactly 4 weeks but pain level growing again

Hi there Sisters, it is 4 weeks to the day since my TAH and for the 1st 3 weeks really noticed improvement as pain levels dropped and moving became so much easier, however, over the last 3 days the pain level has begun to increase but only on one half of the scar (the right side). I have noticed there appears to be a hard lump forming above the scar which seems to be getting bigger each day. I was wondering if anyone else had similar or if anyone has any suggestions as to what it might be.

Many thanks for your help on this.

Best regards Anne

Any new pain needs to be reported to your doctor. At this point in your recovery you should better, not worse. Give the office a call. You'll probably be asked to come in so that your doctor can see what's going on.

Hi, had my op the same day as you - for ovarian cysts, so had the lot out! I too am having the same problem, when I went for my six week check the surgeon said that there was a hematoma under the scar, which would go in 3-4 weeks. This was last week and it seems to be getting worse and my tummy is more swollen. Going to see GP t0night.

How you doing otherwise, i'm having real bad flushes and night sweats, so have started on estrogen gel - now working yet though!!

P.S I live in West Bromwich in the West Midlands.
