Weeks later - mystery bruises?

Tomorrow is the nine week Hysterectomy anniversary. It is also the six week anniversary date of my second stay at the castle for an emergency surgery related to the hysterectomy.

I havent been cleared for intimacy, running or any vigorous activities yet. I plan on that being this Thursday at my next appointment.

I mention that as I am still being careful and not doing anything that I would suspect could cause bruises on my legs. Tonight I found one about three inches below my groin on the inside of my thigh. It is tender. Nothing has been between my legs but a body pillow at night. I checked and noticed bruises on the inside of the opposite leg about five inches above the knee. I checked in the mirror and found no others. I have NO idea how I got bruises on the inner legs with my sedentary activities. My only exercise is walking the treadmill twice a day at 3mph for a mile each time.

I can't recall having mystery bruises before my surgeries. This may not be related at all but I am curious by the timing.

Did any of you find yourselves bruising much easier? Is this something caused possibly by the anemia from my blood loss six weeks ago? Is it a symptom of menopause?

I will ask my doctor Thursday but wondering until then if anyone else had this. I am writing from a cell phone (not a smart phone) so Google searches are difficult. Any thoughts?

Re: Weeks later - mystery bruises?

Hey Leia,
Yeah I've got a mystery bruise at the back of my knee...I've also got some on the back of my right arm. I THINK they're from my husband supporting me to get out of bed when I couldn't do that on my own because they look finger shaped and are in about the right place but it's not like he was grabbing me and dragging me out of bed.
Guess maybe easy bruising is something we can add to the post op symptom list.

Re: Weeks later - mystery bruises?

I haven't noticed bruising in that area but I am sensitive to touch in that area and I'm now in week two. I also developed brusing on week two below my belly button which I found weird. I think it's all very possible.

Thanks,
Lisa
Good luck on your recovery!!
