surgery discovered new findings

Today I am 2 days post op doing great but am so sore. Before surgery I was in so much pain, to were I was ER and so forth, many tests was performed; vaginal ultrasound, ct scan with contrast, and more biopsies than I can mention. Nothing really major showed up. Only one doctor agreed with me on having a hysterectomy due to severe dysmenorrhoea, retroverted uterus, removal of ovarian cyst, severe bowel problems, and the fact that I could not have anymore kids. Honestly; just couldn't handle the problems any longer. Upon the TLH they discovered that my organs and abdominal cavity was covered with endometriosis and peritoneal adhesions. The surgery took alot longer than expected due to the fact she removed all the endometriosis and adhesions that she could. Had to free my colon from my cavity wall. So glad my doctor and I agreed to do this because I knew deep down there was so much more to my problems than what was being shown on the routine test. Pathology is being performed on organs and I pray that it is nothing no worse than what has already been operated on.

Re: surgery discovered new findings

Yay for you for advocating for yourself sister. Drs need to listen to the fact that you know how you are supposed to feel. And when things feel "off", patients know.

Re: surgery discovered new findings

Glad that you fought for yourself and had a doctor that was willing to listen. Now you get to pamper the princess. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, eating plenty of fiber, get plenty of rest and walk.
I pray that you have a successful recovery

Lots of ((HUGS)) to you
