Thanking God for the pain today

I have known for 5 weeks now that I would be having surg on Aug 9th. However, I still have had my moments of wondering if I am doing the right thing. Today has been the first day that I have even thought about packing and really facing what is ahead. Some days the pain is unbearable and some days its better. If I had any doubt about the surg today has totally changed my mind! The pain as I shopped at my local pharmacy for items I would need to take to the hospital was confirmation enough for me.
So I am thanking God in his wisdom for giving me pain in my final days to help me have peace with my decision. It is now in his hands, not mine and I am grateful.

I haven't done my shopping yet. Today is Sunday and I really need to do it as I have to be at the castle at 6.30am !! putting it off really but I have no time left I guess.

I felt the same way. I hurt so badly the week before my surgery. It was enough to keep me focused and confirmed my decision as well.

Be sure to post on the post op board when you are able after your surgery.

Remember to come back here as soon as you get home. Monday will be my 6 week mark and it has been a Blessing to have the support from all the Sisters. There were days that I didn't feel like posting anything, but ready what others was posting gave me the comfort to know I wasn't alone and others were going through the same thing I was.

I've had this exact feeling pretty much since the day I scheduled the surgery date. So much so, that I thought I should cancel the surgery. Then today did my shopping for Monday, and voila! Pain's back!

I'll probably be one of the last one's on Monday. Mine is scheduled for 5:00pm east coast time. So while most of you Aug 9-ers are waking up and starting your recovery, I'll still be stressing, and thinking about all of you!

I am also scheduled for Monday but at 2:30 PM (East coast) and probably finish up packing tomorrow. Could not stop myself from cleaning nonstop today, nerves. My problem that led up to this was abnormal bleeding for 25 days which led to transfusion, then being put on northindrone and stopping for 21 days then going for another 14 days with bleeding. Would you believe that now I have not had anything for two weeks? Just like when you have a tooth ache and it goes away just before you go to the dentist. But I know the surgery is the right thing to do. Best of luck, my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Soon we will be beyond all this worry and on our way to recovery.

I too have cleaned all day. Bought nice candles, massage oil and had my hair done (color and highlights . Hubby has been so good helping me pack and just being there with big hugs when needed.
God is so good. He knows what we need more than we do! How awesome is that? My surg is at 9:30 EST Monday Aug 9th. Hey,I had my surgery this past friday morning.I am home and really feel ok! I will be thinking about you tomorrow! Yes pain free days are just around the corner! WOO HOO!
