Feelings of Loss

Sorry I know my last message ended abruptly. I had a little help sending the reply prematurely.

I am glad to hear from so many on this subject. I am also releived that the intensity of the sorrow will lesson and hopoefully disappear after the surgery. I think we all need a

happygo I think we both coiuld have written the others. You found all the words I was for.

This web site has been a life saver. I have been so :frazzeled: over the last few months and especially now that my date with the castle is drawing near. I had just been trying to cope on my own and then I finally started sharing and boy did it make a difference. I even slept better last night.

Feelings of Loss

Emotions are really volatile things, aren't they? I had not had a period since Jan. 2003, and had my surgery June 2004, so I had already gone through the mourning for no more children, even though my 2 are now 22 and 20. I did not get as "down" as as thought I might, I knew there was no way to predict exactly how I would react, but I came to the conclusion that anytime there is a major change in our lives, moving, kids going to school, leaving home, marriage, death, loss of a job, this surgery, that we women (and I'm sure men too) mourn the loss of what we once had or were, and it takes us a while to get our bearings again.

I quit my job because of the lifting restrictions from this surgery, and my "baby" just turned 20, and I had this surgery and slept through the summer, and now the seasons are changing, and there's not as much daylight, and. . .

We mourn what we don't have anymore, until we come to terms with what we still have or what new things we do have, and that's when we rejoice and move on. We can't do it on our own. God and prayer help. Alot.

Just know that you aren't alone, and we are all in this boat together. Praying for your recovery in everything you are going through. God bless.
