Dear Kaden,
I've come here anxious and gotten good info, worried and received encouragement & prayer, and uptight and had a good giggle... I think there's lots of support for you here, whether it's a serious answer to a question, a virtual hug if you're troubled... or a belly laugh to break the tension.
Tell us about what you're feeling! Mad, sad, confused... we've all been there! And we're here for you...
Take care,
Lisa

Seriously!
Kaden,
Most people are at least somewhat stressed, scared and confused when they stumble into HysterSisters. If we were all 100% serious and sober all the time, it would be a much less welcoming place to visit, wouldn't it? While we do have very serious question and answer threads, sometimes a little humor tossed in will relieve tension or even put problems into perspective. I don't remember ever seeing anyone's questions being ridiculed or made fun of. Usually, we're poking fun at ourselves and feeling we've asked silly questions. There are NO silly questions here...if you need to know, you need to ask. We are here for support, reassurance, to let off steam and YES for a few giggles along the way. Many of us have found lasting friendships here, as well.
I went into surgery knowing I had gotten all the information I could. I felt I was prepared for just about anything. The warmth and caring I received anytime I came to these boards with questions and concerns was unlike anything I got from friends and family here. I truly felt that these were my Sisters in Spirit. It is also very rewarding for me to be able to come back, even at 10+ months post op and hopefully give back at least some of what I've received. If I can make one person feel better, either with information or a giggle, then I'm happy.
Please....any questions or concerns you may have, feel free to ask. We are here for you and any other Sister who needs us.

Hi Kaden,
Yes, a hysterectomy is major surgery, and should be taken seriously, along with any other surgery. But, as Cat and Lisa mentioned, sometimes a little humor makes it a little easier to deal with.
Please read this, written by Kathy Kelly, who started Hyster Sisters, after going through her own hysterectomy. I think it will give you a better understanding of HS.
I see that your hyst is scheduled for Monday - it's perfectly normal for you to be feeling sad, confused, and mad. Please post again and let us know how we can help.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery and recovery.

That's okay, Kaden. We've all been there. It is such a big surgery and there are other obvious issues revolving around this surgery except just the physical aspects of it.
You will find that sisterhood, advice, love, and humor will aid in your healing process.
I, for one, do not think life should always be taken so seriously. We only get one physical life, depending on your own belief system, of course. It should be the very best and most fun we can make it! Unfortunately, we encounter some sobering experiences along the way, but don't let it knock your spirit!
Most can be overcome with a positive mind! I have a great attitude (and have all of my life) and still sought the advice and support of my sisters because they are the only ones who TRULY understand. Others can pretend to and that is all well and good, but these ladies really, really KNOW. You will find comfort here...
Take care,
Jackie

Hi Kaden,
My surgery is on Monday also. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that you feel better and that your surgery goes well.
