Im PMS ing- beware im sarcstic
So im PMSing, and thinking well this will be the last of this, then I remember my hormones are going to be in a red bio hazard bag on Tuesday so the crying/ moodiness etc shall continue. GREAT.
so im sick of hearing lots of women go through this its no big deal...ok have you gone through this? no ok then you have no room to speak.
I love this site to answer so many questions and ease my mind, but im told your getting yourself all worked up, you shouldn't be looking at possible complications, your'e being negaitve, me I like to be informed and I'm realistic. I want to know what could possibly happen so i'm not surprised if something does happen. My Dr, as I'm sure every Dr doesn't go through a detailed explanation of everything, if they did would we all be here? I totally get this isn't medical advice on here. Its support, it helps us get through this crazy thing.
I was having a bad day, shortly after diagnosis and was speaking to a nurse about a concern via the phone,I was crying and said I haven't been this sick in my whole life. her response you're not sick, womens' uteruses cause problems but you're not sick. I felt like saying ok, how about you live with my uterus for a few rounds of my period with cramps that have on on the floor crying, that no meds help...having your bowels shut down bc they are connected to your uterus, and then you tell me im not sick.
ok just needed to get it out, onty a few days to go and the crying fits come more and more :bigcry

((()))
Everything you are going through is normal. I've decided that anyone who works in an ob gyn office needs to have empathy classes or something! The appointment when I was finally ready to talk about a hyster with my doc after years of heavy periods and every test under the sun by two doctors, the nurse said "You are ready to give up just because of two bad period?". I think my jaw dropped visibly. Excuse me?!?!

Yes, nobody understand unless they're going through it or have experienced something similar.
I was sitting in my Dr's office during an appointment, crying (which is a side effect of the meds he has me on)..and after everything I've been going through for the past year - which includes a period that never ends, he looked at me and said "well, you should be happy that this is the last period that you'll ever have"
:O
ya, maybe...but I'VE HAD IT FOR A YEAR!!

im having crying fits over anything and nothing at all, and no one gets it. I hear you're getting worked up over nothing lots of women go through this. ugggg.... Ive been having nausea for days now. Im not one who likes to depend on others, and the no driving for 2 weeks, and the restrictions on reaching lifting, walking etc...and I dont think thye understand ill be slow and fatigued for a bit so doing things on my own is out of the question....there should be mandatory classes for those who have soemone going through a hysterectomy. I got the well my friend had a C section and she was up and going quickly... oye.
thanks for listening, tomorrow is the liquid diet and bowel prep...oh joy...

Re: Im PMS ing- beware im sarcstic
I don't know what's worse...the totally insensitive comments, or the looks of confusion on people's faces when you tell them you're having a hyst as if to say, "well, you look healthy to me!"....
on the other hand, there a a few that are far between that are truly concerned and offer to help or pray. That makes it worth it...
it's amazing the different reaction you get from someone who's been there..."Oh, I'm sorry you're having to go through this...I've been there and I know how you feel"
I try to keep a lot of emotions to myself if I suspect that someone won't be able to understand. It's just easier that way. Then I come here to vent where I know others totally understand.

Re: Im PMS ing- beware im sarcstic
I hear you and I feel your pain! I keep getting the "Oh, you're going to get early menopause" remark. Really? That is what you think I want to hear right now???
I am sorry we are all going through this and I am sure it will be better later, but I also feel your desire to scream at people who make insensitive remarks (or am I putting words in your mouth?). Good luck to you!

Re: Im PMS ing- beware im sarcstic
with the early menopause comments, I get "well they have stuff you can take for that." or "well you have a date so you know theres an end to your suffering" yes i get to be gutted(TAH) and deal with all the fun that involves for weeks, hoping for no complications. Im glad to have my sisters here who understand and I can vent to....

Re: Im PMS ing- beware im sarcstic
Ignore the idiots who want to inform you how worried you should or should not be. This is your experience, and they have no clue.
It's normal to be upset and nervous and dreading the whole thing. Understand the days will pass and soon this will be behind you.
Focus on what you can do to prep. I would urge you to avoid reading all the post-op stuff, it may only make you more uptight rather than inform you. But to each her own.
I'd say clean your house, stock up on treats and healthy food to look forward to when you return, line up meals and things to make life easy when you get home, then relax. Buy yourself some new jammies, get your nails done--in short, pamper yourself. I am not being condescending or suggesting this is all it takes to make life rosy, I'm being serious--pamper yourself a bit before hand and enjoy it. Try to go into surgery as relaxed and prepped as possible. What happens will happen and all you can do now is prepare and take deep breaths, and know that you will come out on the other side.
When you are in post op, that's the time to jump into the threads of people having any problems that you may be having. But keep in mind you may have NONE. Either way, you will get through it one day at a time. Best of luck to you!
