Pre-Op Henna Tattoos

My LSH is scheduled for wednesday. A friend who does henna tattoos has happily offered to create some on me before The big day. I was wondering if anyone else had this done beforehand. I know I cant have fingernail polish on when I go into the hospital, but I am thinking a temporary henna tattoo on my feet should be fine.

Why not take a raincheck and be pampered post-op with the hennas? Give you time with your friend as well

I wouldn't think that a henna tattoo would affect anything. Although make sure you have it done in plenty of time for it to dry and have the "crust" fall off before hand.

I would check with your Dr. on this. I don't know how Henna tattoos are applied but they either may not want you getting one or will need you to have it a certain period of time prior to your surgery.

Well, they don't even want a daily vitamin in your system 7 days out...I don't think Henna being absorbed into the system would be better than a daily.
I would check before hand.

thanks for all the replies. I decided to put it off till afterwards. I can get my hands and feet done then since I wont be doing much else! Small rewards to help healing.

Gypsywoman, ask your doctor. I had to remove my gel nails and no nail polish allowed at all. Some doctors will allow some on the toes and some won't. It is up to the individual doctor and/or hospital.
