Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
I was surprised when I felt bad yesterday. This is my 10th day out and I feel worse.
My bladder still stings when it's full, I'm still having bloody discharge (from 2 nights ago), and things inside sting/hurt =(
I thought I was going to have a quick, graceful recovery, judging by those first days. Seems like I feel worse and worse.

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
I had the same thing. Felt great for the first week and then BAM felt horrid. My recovery has been baby steps. I feel good for awhile then have a day where I feel awful. Then I feel great, then have that one or two days I feel awful. My doctor said that is just part of the normal healing process.
Don't worry, you are still early in your recovery and there is lots of healing going on. Hang in there, it gets better.

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
I'm kind of in the same boat and got on to ask my sisters if this was normal when I found your post. I felt great till 3 days ago them bam I started having pain in my left side and the stinging in places. It is more painful then day 1. I even called the dr office to find out whats going on nurse said its normal at my stage of recovery (surgery was 3/12) Thanks sisters for always being here.

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
Week one hurt me inside, week 2 I felt awful all over too. Week 3 my muscles seemed to feel like they were seizing from inactivity then week 4 they were sore from doing stuff lol. Now at week 5 I'm back to having pinching and pulling and irritation in my incision.
Every day it's something new, but overall it's easing. Keep your chin up and keep an eye on your temperature, just in case.

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
Whew...so glad to see I'm not the only one. I am 10 days postop from a vaginal hysterectomy, and i also felt better during the first week after surgery than I do now...and I'm not doing anything that I shouldn't be. My family is very supportive and have catered to me like a princess This morning I have had stinging shooting pains on my left side and Tylenol is barely helping...I guess I thought I would get better as the days pass, but again, I will have a good few days and with no bleeding at all and then WHAM, I am down and out on the couch with light bleeding again. This is really very frustrating but I'm so glad to be able to read the posts from everyone else; it's very comforting. Thank you.

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
Very much so! Thank you to everyone for sharing!
I really appreciate that this forum actually has people assuring and answering each other. Almost no other forum I have been to would've done the same.
I went ahead and took a painkiller for today.
My mom suggested that I make myself use the restroom every hour or 1.5 hours, just to keep from having my bladder "full"...at least until things heal enough.

Your mom is bang on. Empty often. I go at the first warning and daytime is easy, however I do still find that if I sleep too long I get spasms and its really painful. Again, something that is getting better but still sucks! lol

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
Hi there,
I'm just over three weeks out. There are good days and tough days. There are still days I don't want to get out of bed but there are also days where I can go out for a couple of hours. It's gradual--don't get discouraged!

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
I don't see how I'll be able to go back to work on my 4th week. That worries me because I'll have run out of days and I won't get paid. I'm the only income here, too. =/

Re: Feeling Worse (10 days post-op)
I am 4 weeks out of LAVH, just want to send you some encouragement. I had days that were really great and I thought "yea! I'm better". Then the next I was Exhausted and back to the couch. I'm feeling more like myself finally, but I do anticipate that I'll have random Exhausted days. I have 2 more weeks off work still. But honestly, I feel ready to go back - though my 12 hours shifts will kick my butt I'm sure!
Hang in there.
