Hysterectomy 3 days ago and now passing out.

I had surgery on the 19th and have done wonderful. Only taken 2 pain pills a day so thought all was well until I got up at 4:30 this morning to go to the bathroom and passed out while sitting there. My husband ran in and got me and after a couple of minutes he tried to get me back into the bed and I fainted again. I don't know why I did this and am now scared to get up and move around. Anyone else experienced this while in early stages of recovery?

I think you should go to the ER. If for no other reason, you can seriously harm yourself if you should faint while standing. Please go to the ER now to be examined and let us know how you make out.

Sometimes I wish this forum had an agree button.

Yes yes, go to the ER.

Please get medical treatment ASAP. Thankfully, I was still hospitalized when I started blacking out. Mine turned out to be a combination of anemia from internal bleeding, high blood pressure and high pulse from who knows what, some dehydration, and unknown hypoglycemia. It was all going on at once, so made things a bit complicated, however, the internal bleeding seems to have been the trigger for it all. It was treated very seriously and I was kept in the hospital for a total of 10 days and then released on modified bedrest.

Please be very careful as you could hurt yourself badly if you fall when fainting. I was not allowed to stand up or walk at all on my own to try to prevent injury. I was required to have an adult with me 24/7 for my own safety.

Please, get help immediately.

Apparently friends as much as I thought I was drinking, it was not enough. Water is key....ice tea is a diuretic and I was putting out a lot more than I was putting in. I feel better now that I have had some fluids. Thanks sisters for suggesting I go to the ER. Thanks for just being there when I was so scared! WATER! WATER! WATER!

I'm glad you went and it was something minor! Lots of water! Anything with caffeine is a natural diuretic. Consume those in moderation. Hope the rest of your recovery is smooth! Xoxo
