TOT sling recivery timeline
I had a vaginal hysterectomy with rectocele and TOT sling 16 days ago. All is good except I've already had a UTI and urinating is still slow and difficult though improving very slightly. Is this just swelling? Will it get easier? I don't feel like bladder issues are better at all, though the rectocele repair is great! Any ideas?

Re: TOT sling recivery timeline
I'm about 3 months post op from a similar procedure. The slow urination is from swelling (assuming your doc has ruled out blockages etc. It does get better. Some days I have a steady and hard stream of urine and other days it seems to just want to trickle out and my bladder feels like its never really empty. I have noticed that when I am really active and over do it or sit for long periods of time, thats when I feel the most pressure, burning and or discomfort. Keep drinking plenty of water! I've heard that it can take well over six months if not longer to fully heal?? I do enjoy not leaking anymore!

Re: TOT sling recovery timeline
Same here, I am on day 18 post-op. Had the TOT sling and a DaVinci sacro colpoplexy. Urine stream is very slow. It starts and stops and I have to wait for it to trickle out to be sure I am completely empty. At my 2 week check up, the nurse scanned my bladder after I voided and I only retained 3 ML of fluid. She said this is good. I am hoping it will get better. I read on the internet that this is a common problem after the TOT surgery.
