heat or ice?

So what do you think is better for incisions? A heating pad or an ice pack?

Re: heat or ice?

I believe you're supposed to talk to your doc before you do either but mine told me to alternate. Cold to help the swelling, heat to speed healing by increasing blood flow. I've mainly used cold because it feels so good on my swelly belly but have tried heat too.

Re: heat or ice?

As far as swelling goes, cold is better.... but if you don't have a lot of swelling then alternating with heat can be okay!!!
