Trying to stay calm and rational until Jan. 18
I'm a 56 year old grandmother in menopause having TAH because of "atypical" uterine cells. Two doctors very adamant that I have this surgery because of future risk of cancer. So going to the Castle on Jan. 18th. Have some fibroids but they don't bother me much. Will recuperate at my daughter's home because she thinks my husband won't take good enough care of me, being a man, you see. I'm not male bashing but have found in our family the women are much better care givers. Plus my daughter had a myomectomy and our doctor has said she will know exactly how I'm feeling during recuperation. This site and all your messages have been a blessing to me. I used the question list at my pre-op appointment and have prepared for post-op by reading your suggestions. Realized today I've been a "lurker". Just wanted to let anyone who reads this know how important this site is. Can't remember how I found it but am glad that I did. All of you are in my prayers. Haven't read any postings by anyone with my exact same problems, but my heart goes out to all of you who have been through so much before getting to this point and to those of you with children at home and so many responsibilities. You have my admiration for your courage and strength. I feel odd about the surgery because I don't really feel sick. Would be happy to hear from any of you.
