Doc decided against hyst for now - Mirena instead

My doctor decided even though I'll need a hysterectomy she wanted to try every other alternative she could think of before making that big decision. We decided on the Mirena, I had it inserted last Friday. The "pinching" when inserted was horrible but so far no real major issues other than spotting and some cramping. I'm hoping this will help with excessive bleeding. I've had friends say it was the best decision they made so hoping for the same for me!

I explored multiple options before I had my hysterectomy too, and I'm glad I did. It gave me the satisfaction of knowing I'd tried to prevent the risks from major surgery and also the comfort of knowing that if I did have complications, I wouldn't have regrets for not having triedother options first.

My younger sister has done beautifully with her Mirena. I hope you do too.
