8 days post hysterectomy - not really feeling pain or tired, should I still limit activity?
I had a transvag hysterectomy 8 days ago, and never really had any pain or issues with moving around. I feel like I'm playing hooky for no reason...should I be trying to test my limits? Anyone else not really feeling any side effects?

Re: not really feeling pain or tired, should I still limit activity?
My side effects were very minimal and I did do some walking (15mins at a time) and noticed I was pretty tired afterwards. I would say start small with walking and see how it goes. Just had my two week checkup and was cleared to walk and do low impact stuff at gym. Just watch discharge and see how you feel. I walked 2 miles yesterday and feel pretty good except for my back starting aching so today is a rest day!

You need to stick to whatever restrictions your doctor gave you. If you're doing well with short walks, try longer ones. If you're doing well with long walks on flat ground, try some hills.

Just add activities gradually, your body will tell you when you've done too much. But don't do anything that the doctor has restricted ; sex, lifting etc; until you've been cleared.

Nah, don't "test your limits". There are restrictions because you've had multiple internal incisions which could rupture if you do too much too soon.

I also didn't have much pain or trouble moving around. My dr encouraged me to be active but to follow my restrictions. So I walked a ton, went shopping, went to lunch with friends, did light housework etc. Start slow and work your way up, if need be. I was able to go back to work at 3 weeks.

8 days post hysterectomy - not really feeling pain or tired, should I still limit activity?
I had same surgery, same day. Mostly I feel the same. I'm walking a mile each morning now. I tried the slight hill yesterday and was more sore today so I stayed on the flat areas today. I have messed up recovery from surgeries in the past so this time I'm sticking to walking and light baking/cooking and lots of hanging around the house. I know myself and if I get out into town the. All bets are off and I may mess up on restrictions. Plus, I live a mile down a dirt/gravel road which is more painful to go down in a car than to walk. I plan on getting out on Sunday.
Someone mentioned some YouTube yoga videos for post hysterectomy that I thought I'd ask my doctor about clearing me for next week at my follow up.
I never did have issues getting out of bed and thought there was something I wasn't feeling. I do feel it now if I walk up and down the steps to outside to often or bend to pick things off the floor too much.
Happy healing, sister!

thank you all for your responses, and reminders to get out and walk. The weather is finally clearing, so I'll give that a shot. And hope you are doing well today, too!
