Hot Flashes: Too soon or right on time?

Ok ladies I am only six days post op and I swear I am starting to have hot flashes

I was put through a forced menopause with Lupron 10 years ago when I was first diagnosed with my endo so I am familiar with the wonderfulness that is the hot flash! But is this too soon or am I just making something more of it than I should?

I don't go back to the Dr till next Friday for my post op appointment and I won't be starting hormones till then. The last two days though have been, well, HOT :-) Other than that I am recovering well, I am actually writing this from work as today is my first partial day back. The da vinci is an awesome surgery I must say to be 6dpo and feel at least this good.

How soon were you guys, if at all hit with the hot bug?

Thanks!

Re: Hot Flashes: Too soon or right on time?

Everyone is different. I know some that start to experience hot flashes almost immediately and some that don't. I made it three weeks before I started having them and had to call my Dr. for something before my 4 week check up because I couldn't stand it. If it gets unbearable then I suggest you call and get an earlier appointment or see if they will call a Presciption in for you.

Good luck,
Tracy

Re: Hot Flashes: Too soon or right on time?

I started having them around the 7th day. I eeked out until my 2 week p.o. appt. and the doc put me on Estradiol. Today is exactly 22 days p.o. and I haven't had any hot flashes, night sweats or overtly emotional moments for about 5 days. If the hot flashes are really bothering you call in to the dr. If your able and willing to take HRT then they can probably call in a RX for you without seeing you.

Re: Hot Flashes: Too soon or right on time?

Everyone is different....I started my HRT the day after surgery and while in the hospital, I didn't really notice any hot flashes or anything, but the minute I got home, that was a different story. I didn't really have any "hot flashes" but HORRIBLE night sweats!! I would wake up with the bed completely soaked! That was 4 days post-op...they lasted until my estrogen level was finally where it needed to be and haven't had one since!!!
