Farting and diarrhea and hemorrhoids...OH MY!

As of tomorrow, I'm two weeks post-op. happy to report my incision is looking good, and I'm at the point where I hardly need any type of painkillers. I haven't needed one today, in fact. I'm feeling more and more comfortable with my movement every day. I'm sleeping well, and getting loads of rest.

However...
I am having a terrible time with my digestive system. For me, it's the worst part about this recovery. First of all, the gas pains are terrible. I walk and walk and try to get them under control. They're improving but those first few days home were horrendous as I couldn't sleep or nap until I'd fully de-gassed myself, and I couldn't do that unless I was sitting on a toilet for what felt like forever. Second, I went from constipation to searing diarrhea over the weekend. Now that is under control, but throughout this whole thing, I've been dealing with a bad case of hemorrhoids. I could probably deal with all of this if it weren't so painful whenever I went to the bathroom. Just when I feel like my hemorrhoids are healing, that will be the day I have a wacky bowel movements or several in a row that set me back to square one. I have been scared to eat my favorite foods, so I try to keep it simple, but I'm bored out of my mind, and craving some comfort food. I'm terrified of what it will do to my stomach and of course, my butt.

Anywho, enough of my bellyaching. I just need to vent. I'm so hungry for enchiladas! Lol. How long are we going to be apart? If I'd known I'd be off good food for this long, I would've had a feast before I had to do my bowel prep.

Anyone else have these issues?

I have had the same problem. I eat and get severe gas pain which hangs around until I can either pass gas or have a bowel movement. I have been treating it like having a baby, I use tucks after I rinse my vaginal area and anus with a squirt bottle of warm water. seems to soothe my overused areas and reduces my pain for a time.

I really didn't expect this part of the recovery. I think I expected to be extremely sore in the abdomen. My abdomen is e least of problems. It's my stomach/butt giving me the worst time. Who knew?
