tummy pillow

I've already had my surgery, but for those about to enter I have a suggestion. The hospital gave me a flannel pillow filled with raw rice. I can put it in the microwave for two minutes and it stays warm for two hours or so. And because it has some weight but not too much it conforms to the belly and makes it fill wonderful(almost like a big hug). Looking at it more closely, it appears to have a closed cotton bag of rice inside the flannel velcro sealed one so that you can wash outer pillowcase. I highly recommend it if you can either find one or make one yourself. It was my best friend for 2 1/2 weeks.

tummy pillow

A great way to make a tummy pillow is also with corn. You make a bag put the corn in it and sew it shut. You can make a cover for it. also. Then you pop it in the microwave. My DH grandma made all of the great grandkids one last year for Christmas. I have gotten more use out of it the the kiddos. LOL But I will warn you, you have to like the smell of popcorn. Rest assured that it will not pop unless you leave it in for a very long time.
