time off from work or quit

Update on work:

I talked to my boss today. I explained my daughter is still coming home from school early several times a week. I can not say when, it all depends on how she is feeling. School is out on the 20th. My surgery is scheduled for the 30th. basically i would be able to work for 1 week. Then I would be out from surgery. My boss had a hyster a few years ago. She said she thinks I would need 6 weeks to 3 months.

So she decided, and I agreed, to keep me on. For now I would be "on call". If there was an emergency call out, if I could fill in, I would. Otherwise once I am feeling better, I would let her know and try working again.

Wow. She was wonderful, and so compassionate.

I'm sooooo glad you went and talked with her! Yay!
