New, just got the ok to proceed and I am scared

I have very intense endometriosis. I had stage 4 removed in 2000 and lupron therapy, then had 3 children. Now it is back. I have been fighting to get a hysto since 2009, but the military doctors kept saying no and that I am too young (34). I finally switched to a doctor off base and she is ok with doing one.

I would love to hear your advice. I had no idea there were different kinds, she said she would remove my uterus and leave the ovaries.

I have another appointment for questions, what are some of the things I should ask?

There's a forum on this site called Endometriosis Support which is the ideal place to connect with others who are dealing with endometriosis, both before and after their surgeries. I hope that your doctor has discussed with you that having a hysterectomy, with or without also removing the ovaries (oophorectomy) isn't a cure for endometriosis and that it's possible to have problems with it even after surgery.
