Bath and Patch

For anyone wearing a vivelle-dot. If I can find my darn paperwork and see how long I have to abstain from a wonderful eucholyptus/mint scented bubble bath....will the dot stay on ok? I just got to thinking about that....will I find my hormones floating in the bubbles?

Thanks and s

Bath and Patch

According to my Climara paper work the patch may come off if in a bath or swimming pool. I wouldn't soak for too long in the tub but as long as the doc clears it a shortish soak should be ok.

Bath and Patch

maybe I should wear it on my forehead for bathtimes

I'm going through serious withdrawal here...I love a hot bath and then putting on nice flannel jammies and fuzzy slippers. It's finally cool enough for all that

Bath and Patch

HI Cat! My Vivelle dots have stayed on through hot-tub soaks, sweat-drenched southern days at the beach and body surfing at same.

One time only did I have a patch come loose after the hot tub. I don't know how that one was different--maybe it had to do with skin oils when I put the patch on. I simply replaced that one with another and continued with my schedule. Refilling a couple of days early didn't seem to phase my insurance company.

Bath and Patch

I have had several long soaks in the tub with my Vivelle patch and have not had even the slightest issue with one coming off. The nurse at my Drs office uses them too and she gave me a great hint,, she said right after she puts a new one on,, she hits it with hot air from the blow dryer for a few second to really "set" it. Truthfully,, i have to really pick at them to get them off!!! The only time in 3 months i have even had the tiniest little edge lift ,, i had it in the middle of my abdomen dead center just above the incision site and i noticed it was lifting just a hair on the lower edge after sex. I had been on top and maybe it was the friction,,,, who knows,, Sorry if this was too graphic . Before my hyst I never would have even said that out loud to a friend,,, let alone type it on the internet!!!!!!!!!!! Go Ahead,, if you are cleared for baths,, enjoy one!!!!!!!!

You guys are killing me!

As one who is agonizing over the decision to keep healthy ovaries or not (on the preop board) I really enjoyed reading your posts. Your humor had me laughing out loud (worth spelling out this time) (Cat, I've always enjoyed your sense of humor in your posts) Thanks to all of you. Please keep writing, I don't know if you meant to be lighthearted, but from one weary sister whose tired of waiting it truely lifted my otherwise weary heart about this issue and the Patch
My DH says if I do decide, (we've been swapping sides back and forth on this discussion) he's gonna start calling my "patches"

Thanks so much, I can't stop chuckling.
Hugs to you all...

Bath and Patch

Well Peggyrey,,, if you really want a giggle,, this will do it!!! One day a couple of months after the hyst,, I was in the shower just washing away!! Scrubbing around the edge of the patch, which sometimes acumulates a little lint on the adhesive. Then i proceeded to do the same thing around the second patch,, ,,,, Well about half way through,, it dawned on me what i was doing ,,, yep I had 2 patches on!!!!!! I had forgotten to take the old one off after i put the new one one!!!!!! This is a plus to putting them on your front ( I especially like the forehead idea!) where you can see them,, as opposed to putting them on your butt where you cant!!!! So ladies,, periodically,, check yourselves out and count your patches,, hopefully you will only get to one!!!!!!! ps......... according to my pharmacist,, you CAN o.d. on estrogen!!!! ROFLMAO
