Questioning My Own Surgen?

Hi All
I am so troubled-Have any of you had a problems with your surgen? When I was sent to him I liked that he said"Call me anytime if you have questions, I will get right back to you"
(of course at that time we were to shocked to say much)
Well,I called a week ago-no call back-when I went in for preesting they told me what he put me down for-It was a surprise to me and my Dh-he never told us what else he was planning on doing-
AGAIN A CALL TO HIM-NO RETURN CALL-
AM i ASKING TOO MUCH?
I am at the point where I want someone else-I don't feel safe with him-
Any ideas?

If I was you I would definitely get another doctor. This is YOUR BODY! When I was diagnosed with multiple fibroids I went to several doctors until I found one I was comfortable with. He stayed and talked to me and answered any questions that I had. He did not have his hand on the doorknob while he was talking either.
If your doctor is treating you like this now, I would not let him OPERATE ON ME! Beware if you find a good doctor you will have to wait because everyone else realized he/she is good also.

I agree - "Go with your instincts"! I had reservations about my first gyn's "expertise" but had the surgery anyway. Certainly learned my lesson as I ended up having a second surgery (by another doctor) to "correct" the first surgery. How I wish I had "done my homework" and gone with my instincts before the first surgery. The second surgeon was totally "better"!

Yes, it's YOUR body and you have to live with it - so please find a doctor you have complete faith in!

I agree, go with your instincts. There are just too many good dr's out there to "settle" for someone you are already frustrated with. What will happen when you have post-op questions? I'd ask your girlfriends who they go to and like and find someone else. Having had 9 surgeries in the last 7 years, it is VERY important to have a dr. you can trust and who will talk to you. Good luck in your decision making.
