LAVH: Hysterectomy tomorrow (8/18) getting stressed

I will be glad tomorrow at this time when surgery is over & it hopefully fixes my pain, so stressed this evening. My husband works overseas & won't be home for another month, he just called to tell me everything will be okay but I'm so nervous. Nervous about the surgery, nervous it won't help my pain & other issues. Just needing to vent this out somewhere. Hope I can get some sleep tonight since can't take anything.

I understand how you are feeling - I'm sorry your hubby won't be there but know he is with you in heart - sending well wishes - I'm scheduled Aug. 19th for DaVinci and getting nervous too - just try to keep your mind in a positive state and you will do much better.

I hope you get rest tonight - I at least have pain pills (I've had 3 trips to the E.R. this week for massive bleeding, pain and clots) so I have been advised I can even take one the day of the surgery. Best of luck to you and hope you feel better really soon. I'm just scared of that initial pain the first several days. Take Care. Get plenty of rest afterwords.

I have found this site a blessing to help me cope with healing. If I have a question, I almost always find the answers in the posted threads.

Thank you both! I'm still able to take my pain med, too, quintana67, thank goodness! Just not Valium or Ambien. My thoughts will be with you on Tuesday! My mother in law should be to my house shortly & having her here will help keep my mind off of it, she likes to watch sappy Hallmark movies with me

I am 2 weeks post op and totally understand. I had so much anxiety the 3 weeks that led up to surgery. I was so happy to find this sight but didn't register until today. I will pray for you both!

Hey there tootiepatootie! Best wishes to you tomorrow, as I am also having my surgery then too. Been a basketcase all week. Scheduled around 8 am. Trying to get some sleep with the same wishes for you. Keep us posted post op.

I completely understand how you are feeling. It will be six weeks tomorrow since my LAVH. I was so scared and nervous prior to surgery. I can honestly say that I felt immediate emotional relief as soon as I woke up from surgery knowing that the first and biggest hurdle was behind me. Just remember that every day is a step forward to feeling healthy and strong again. You WILL get there. I personally experienced many ups and downs during recovery. If this happens to you please try to give yourself a break. Listen to your body, don't push yourself too fast during recovery. Rest, rest, rest and trust me, cry when you need to. This is a big adjustment for your body and mind but you can do this and I have faith that in a few weeks you will feel so much better. Good luck tomorrow!!!!
