9 days post hysterectomy: Stitches are out and pathology is in!

I am now Day-9 and my stitches were finally removed today. Boy oh boy what a relief! The pathology came back showing adenomyosis, which we assumed it was all along.

I am going to go back to work next week on modified hours (I work from home so there is nothing strenuous at all). I am looking forward to getting back to some sort of normalcy, although I am really liking my recliner and Netflix. If only I could get my recliner over to the computer lol!

This is what my surgeon told me today:
- Even though I feel great my body has been through a trauma and I need to rest and eat well in order to heal.

- If something hurts then don't do it.

- I can resume intercourse in 3 weeks but if it hurts then to wait and try again later.

- Not to lift more than 5 to 10 pounds right now, although he said the worse that can happen is a hernia at the bellybutton.

- He also warned me that there might be a gush of blood when my vaginal stitches dissolve but not to worry.

I just wanted to share as it is very interesting how different each surgeon's advice is.

Take it easy! I've been enjoying my recliner and Netflix as well. =)

We had the same type of hyster, and it amazes me too how the advice differs from surgeon to surgeon. You'd think it would be consistent. Our bodies are all very different, and we're all different ages, but some of it still seems very odd.
