Can we talk toes?

I know we can't have finger nail polish on during surgery but what about toe nails? I was really thinking about going and getting a pedicure a day or so before to make me happy and to relax a little but won't bother if I'm going to have to take the nail polish off. Anyone know? I'd at least like to have cute feet to look at!!!!!

Can we talk toes?

i was told none on fingers or toes unless it was a french manicure. i think every hospital has different rules though. you should find out at your pre-op.

I went to a large University hospitol and asked my DR about the nail polish and she said it does not matter....They put your finger in a thingy.....
I went and gotr my french pedicure and french manicure and off to the OR I went....

But I have seen on here where some Drs said NO polish..

Can we talk toes?

The facility I will be at has no restrictions regarding nail polish on fingers or toes; nor does it matter if it is colored. So, yes...every hospital OR is different. I don't know when your hyster is scheduled. But I'm sure you could probably call the hospital OR or surgery scheduling dept. and find out what the policy is where you will be.

Can we talk toes?

I had to wipe off my pretty purple colour on toe nails. They said they wanted to check the colour on nails during the operation. But that was in Finland.

Can we talk toes?

I asked that question just today at my preop! My doc kinda rolled his eyes, but glanced at my toes and said to keep the toe polish on! He said they use the fingernails to use the pulse oximeter and as far as he was concerned, even nail polish was ok as long as they had a couple free to check the beds and use the oximeter! Good luck!
