Swelly Belly, post-op 18 days

My surgery (TAH) was 9/10. I had an infection so my belly swelled even more. I have 2 more days of antibotics and I am feeling much better. However, above my incision is still extremely swollen. Is this something I will always have? I read that exercise is not going to help. I would love to hear from some Sisters that have had the same type of surgery with longer recovery time.

I found that short term a heating pad helped, I am now 3 months post op and most of my swelly belly is gone. It just takes some time to heal

I am a month post TAH/BSO and I still have swelling and pain in my abdomen. Seems some people have this for quite a while and others don't really have it at all. I don't know if exercise will help but if you had a TAH (bikini kind of incision) do not exercise until you are cleared for it by your doctor. I am 4 weeks postop and still not cleared for any kind of lifting or anything that will affect my belly. I have tried both heating pad and ice and didn't really find either helped with the swelling but both helped some with relieving pain.
