6 Week History/Present/Post-Op Appointment Today

Hello Sisters,

History: I was battling issues such as irregular bleeding, bleeding during sex, cervical dysplasia, and small fibroid tumors. I also had HPV in the past. I had undergone so many colposcopies, cone biopsies, LEEP procedures, and I just got tired of it. The bleeding during sex was really taking a tole on my relationship. So I told my doctor I wanted a hysterectomy. Of course she was against it, but I told her if she didn't do it, I'd find a doctor that would. I was frustrated. 5 years of dealing with these issues was long enough. I'm a divorced mother of 4 and had a tubal ligation after my 4th child back in 2002.

Present: I had my LAVH on March 29th, my cervix and uterus was removed. I only took 4 weeks off of work and I feel fine. I did have a bladder infection about a week and half after the surgery. I took some AZO and told my doctor about it at my 4 week post-op appointment. I have my 6 week post-op appointment today. I'm not sure what to expect today during this appointment.

I do have a confession, last night me and BF attempted to have sex last night. And it was not a pleasant experience. He said he smelled blood although there wasn't any visible signs of blood. And I've even noticed a change in my "scent". Ironically, when it was time for period last month (well what would've been my period) I still craved sweets, especially chocolate, and I was extremely *****! Which was a good thing. Because I was worried that my libido would decrease after the surgery.

So here are my list of questions for my doctor today:
1. How long will this "bloody" smell be present? And how do I get rid of it or will it go away on its own?
2. Why am I constipated all the time?
3. Why am I gassy all the time?
4. When can I resume my regular exercise routine?
5. Why do I sweat so much now?
6. Do I feel "empty" to my partner?
7. Does the cervix or vagina make a woman "wet"?

I think that's all I have for now. I'll update this post after my appointment.

Re: 6 Week History/Present/Post-Op Appointment Today

You just had MAJOR surgery! That's the answer to most of these . I would ask all of these at your appt today. Maybe things aren't healed all the way and therefore the blood smell. I woulnd't attempt it again until your Dr gives you the ok. There may be things up there that just haven't healed. Make sure you tell the dr that you attempted sex so they can look for any damage. Good luck and keep us posted.
