anyone else have soreness when urinating?

I have no fever or anything like that. I mentioned it at my 2 week check up and my MD said just make sure I void every 2 hours....But I notice now that whenever the bladder is full....I have a dull ache.. at first I thought it was related to something else then realized what it was.....

.I just wondered if anyone else has this symptom? Eventually when I return to work....in about 3 weeks...I will not have the opportunity to void every 2 hours...unless it changes before that time..(sadly at work I have to stand 4-6 hours before I can make a dash to the facilites)

Re: anyone else have soreness when urinating?

I had a lot of pressure when my bladder was full. That is a pretty normal thing and will subside as you heal more!! If it is still troublesome around the 4th to 5th week get it all checked out, I am 8 weeks post op and mine stopped feeling that way at about 4 weeks. Hope it gets better for you.

Hey beautiful girl,

The most important thing is that you have already picked up on it and mentioned it to your doctor so he is already aware of what you are feeling. Sometimes they say that the bladder can become irritated during the surgery as it is 'touched' and 'moved' and it takes a while for it to settle down again so that may be what you are feeling but I would suggest that if it continues, especially if you do develop a fever or coming up to going back to work, you should ring the doctor again and tell him that your symptoms are continuing, just to be on the safe side and have your peace of mind.

Take care beautiful princess and wishing you happy healings.
Hugs galore, xoxo.

Re: anyone else have soreness when urinating?

I was having some discomfort when peeing - a dull pressure i guess you would call it, inside. My dr said my fibroid was attached to my bladder to (or at least i know it squashed it), so it's the internal healing going on. The discomfort has definitely lessened and is practically gone being 6 wks post op trow. Your dr knows about it, so that's best - just be aware of it and week to week see if it lessens at all.

good luck!

I am approaching one month post op and have experienced the bladder pain pressure you described. Up until start HRT last week is was the only real symptom I was experiencing. I had a very large cystic mass that was compressing my bladder. I've been told as well that because of that , that could explain the bladder pain. It's not awful or excrusdiating , just a little annoying. I've just started HRT and suspect I'm going to have to adjust my dose or use another method ( currently on the .5 mg patch) either way the symptoms that I believe we're triggered from the HRT ( anxiety, chest tightness, insomnia, headache, back and body pain heart palpitations etc.) have certainly taken my mind off the bladder pain.
