SOOO ready....

Well, I've just got a couple days left before my trip to the castle. My house is clean; I have meals prepared and frozen so they can just be microwaved. My DH is taking a week off to look after me, and my daugters are going to take turns checking in on me and helping with laundry, housekeeping, etc. I've stocked up on everything from bottled water to toilet paper. I've setup my bedroom to be comfortable for recovery, gotten a body pillow and a squishy pillow for my tummy (for coughing, sneezing, etc.) I have done all my labs and pre-admitted at the hospital, done advance directives....made a phone list for my DH and set up a telephone chain so he doesn't have to call so many people (I'm eldest of 11 in a close family)

Anyway, I was plenty nervous, but I'm really at peace about the whole thing now. I might get jumpy by Friday morning, but right now, I'm just READY! LOTS of folks, including my dear sisters here will be praying for me....and I'm just certain that I'm in good hands and I'm being cradled in God's loving arms. I'm even looking forward to the time off work that I'll be recovering.

Am I nuts? Am I missing something?.....Did I forget anything?

Grace & peace,

Terry

SOOO ready....

HI Terry,
well you sound very organized, and if you have forgotten anything it is probably a small thing.

I'm glad you've hit the "feeling peaceful" stage. I remember when that came over me --On Wednesday and surgery was on Friday. It made all the difference in the world.

best wishes to you,

Thanks, Cheryl. I"m not so sure if I'm really all that organized, or just such a control freak that I need all the details I CAN control under my thumb, so to speak.

I have discovered how much folks (family AND friends) care about me...it has been both joyful and humbling.

Today, I've got last minute cleaning and laundry, a trip to the market for salad stuff....oh, and that Gas-X exeryone seems to swear by....and tomorrow, my mother-in-law is having a cornea transplant and I'm her wheels and support...it'll keep me busy and from worrying about me and my stuff, which, after all is already under control.

Grace & peace,

Terry
