surgery on Oct 18

I thought I had been doing well, until Oct 29. I spiked a fever and just felt awful. On Oct 30 started vomiting, and didn't stop for 5 hours! Ended up being re-admitted for a post-opp infection and had to stay for two days. They sent me home with two weeks worth of heavy duty antibiotics and two weeks lovenox shots. I am feeling a little better now day by day. Did anyone else have a similar problem?

Re: surgery on Oct 18

Unfortunately, for some of us getting infections is not that uncommon. I was ok for about three and a half weeks after but woke up and had pain and felt horrible. Finally went to er late in evening and they said it was just that I was constipated and needed to drink more and use MOM. Went home and drank took several doses of fiber supplements. Next day felt horrible and went to work. Had er call me and tell me to come back in. Turned out I had an infection. They gave me IV and put antibiotics in. Since then had several infections but have been lucky not to require hospitalization until a few weeks ago. Hope you are feeling better. Rest and let your body heal. Which is what I am going to do. I am literally falling asleep. Hope you feel better

Re: surgery on Oct 18

I also got post op infection ( 4 different types) I had my surgery (oopherectomy) on Sept 13.2010. Dr's appointments 2 times a week after my surgery. was on different types of antibiotics at home. then on Oct 29 I was re admitted to hospital for 7 days with IV and oral antibiotics to help with the infection. Came home and stayed on IV antibiotics and an oral very strong antibiotics for 10 days had to have a pikk line put in while in hospital.
I still have the very large knot right over my incision I have begged to have a CT or MRI but he just dont see it.
The knot seems to be SLOWLY going away.Or it actually feels like its breaking up inside me I can feel it very well. the dr turned me loose for 6 months this time but I'm not so sure about that. anyone else having any probles like this?
