LSH Ovarian Cyst and Infection at 7 Weeks Post Op

Hi Sisters,
I am in the 7th week post-op from LSH where I kept both ovaries, age 39. Age 40 now. I went back on birth control a month ago to help with severe PMDD (and I guess, I understand now, to help ward off ovarian cysts again...).

Well at 4 weeks post op I got married, barefoot in the sand and by honeymoon night, I thought I had just overdone it, as I was in a lot of pain. Things got worse and worse even when I rested, iced, heated, reclined, etc...so I finally saw my doctor today.

I have another ovarian cyst (really annoyed about that) and an infection from the cauterization of the cervix? Now he put me on Flagyl antibiotic.

I am relieved I did not have any kind of pelvic prolapse. That is how it FEELS, however, like I am birthing something constantly.

I feel silly not knowing more about my own anatomy at 40 years old...but how long does it take for an ovarian cyst to form? And really? This soon after hysterectomy? UGH! I am praying the pain will get better once the infection clears and/or if the birth control can "control" the cyst(s)....

But there was a time, pre-op, where I told my doctor to "remove everything!" And he talked me out of it. I have friends who have later had to go back and remove ovaries as well.

Sigh. I guess this was nothing more than a snarly waaah waaah post.
