other cravings....
After reading the post below, I was curious if anybody else was having "cravings"? Ever since my surgery I've been dyin for Chinese food. Also, I think I could have a milk shake every day! Is that normal, or all in my head?
So, tonite it's Chinese for dinner~ yayyyy!
(hopefully with a shake on the side)

other cravings....
My theory was that our bodies crave whatever nutrients it needs to heal, but I can't justify my Reese's peanut butter cup craving! Besides that, I've been craving meat, and I'm not a big meat eater. So far i've made pot roast (Wed night), meatloaf (last night), and tonight I'm making Meditteranean chicken. Oh, and hot chocolate at least twice a day. On the flip side of this, I love my morning coffee, and I can't seem to stomach it since surgery.

other cravings....
Today I just had to have a country fried steak with gravy. So we went to IHOP's where I could get that with some fried okra, corn, and mashed potatoes. I'll never get back in my jeans if I keep eating like this. My best friend says that it is hormones causing the cravings.

I agree with Lacynia, I think our hormones being all stirred up causes a lot of these cravings. Sort of like the mood swings....one big long bout of PMS until we reach the healing land!
I personally will eat the city out of peanut butter soon if things don't change. Funny thing is I'm an Irish mashed potato craving maniac most every day and I haven't had one potato. Haven't had peanut butter in years! Strange, but almost everything seems a bit off right now. I also have found that certain things taste really different than they used to....hmmm.

other cravings....
I was trying to eat healthier post op and wasn't craving anything, until a new project at work upset all my routines. I started eating out more and raiding the candy machine at work. That's when the cravings started...now I can't get enough Peanut M&Ms.
Post op, I rarely had cravings and if I did, one serving usually put an end to them, but not now.
Ironically, I saw this post while sitting here eating - you guessed it, Peanut M&Ms.

My eating habits are way out of whack. Pre-op I had at least two or three cans of diet coke a day.
Now I could not get down a sip of coke if you paid me or any cola for that matter.
I have been trying to eat better, and I have been all over the map with what I feel like eating. Still get quesy at the thought of red meat even chicken does not appeal and I live on chicken.
Just waiting to see how things will shake out I guess

My thing has been root beer floats. I try to ignore the want but I crave them. Most nights I give in and have one. I figure, this will pass.
On the flip side, I loved my coffee pre-op and can't stand it most of the time now. Same with anything greasy, I just don't want it.
