Wanna be alone?

I have found since my surgery(11 days post op) that I prefer to be alone alot more often. When Im around people (even as little as 2 or 3) i get annoyed and agitated quickly and go off and hang out in my room.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Wanna be alone?

This is normal. This surgery really messes with our hormones, even if we keep our ovaries. If it persists, talk to your doctor about it.

Yes, but then again I've always been like that! I'm just worse since my surgery. I guess the difference I feel is that I get annoyed more quickly, irritated more quickly and mumble under my breath what I'm really thinking. Before I would've had better self-control with the mouth!

Thanks for mentioning this; I thought I was alone in shutting that door in the immediate quest for a bit of extended solitude these last 8 weeks.

LOL.

It's kind of scary when I hear myself. I was always such an over-controlled person before menopause.

Here's to wanting to be alone at times being okay, getting that solitude, and regrouping our brains enough to come out in better moods!

Amen! It does confuse me even more because I have both ovaries.

This is gonna take some getting used to. I kinda feel like I did after having my kids. Like my body is getting back to normal after being pregnant.

Re: Wanna be alone?

No, you are most definitely not alone! I have found I feel the same way. Around one week out I just started wanting everyone to go away after about 45 minutes.
At Nine weeks out, I am still very likely to retreat to my rooom and some alone time.

That was when it started for me. If im in a place where I cant go be alone /in public or so on/ I get restless and annoyed.
