TAH: Hysterectomy shower??

Hi Sisters,

Ok, i read somewhere on someones site about a hysterectomy shower, and it being something nice? I cant find it again.... please fill me in? xoxoxo

Water or presents?? I know the first shower after my TAH was wonderful! Surgery on friday.....showered on monday!
Presents would be more fun though!

But, yes, this sounds like a good idea. You can gather your friends and family to let them know what's going on with you, ask for their support (emotional, etc) throughout recovery.

If your talking about a Hysterectomy shower and you mean a party. I am planning one. I thought it was a great idea to cheer myself up and not dwell on the bad. I am inviting woman who have been through this experience. We are doing a brunch,I'm having a cake made that looks like a Uterus waving goodbye and I have started making a pinata to match. Nothing like ladies sitting around swapping stories, giving advice and than eating cake while beating a Uterus, haha... Oh and I forgot were also doing a ceremony to burn Pads and midol... Its sure to lift my spirits and it also gives me something to plan, keeping my mind busy so it cant dwell on anything negative to long.

I have learned that in order to stay sain, I must focus on the positives and grieve for but no dwell on the negatives.

FANTASTIC IDEA... My friends and I were talking about having a 'Kiss goodbye to the Uterus party' lol....
Then I saw the hysterectomy shower and thought, oooo nice things in a shower... anyone see the new James Bond film yet with the shower!!! Its good to laugh, and boy do I need it. Love and big hugs to you all... xoxox

Wow! That sounds alot more fun than the eviction party I'm planning! I have two holiday partys the few days before my hysterectomy... have to see if i can actually eat anything!

I'm planning a day out with some of my closest friends - a "goodbye to the evil uterus/celebrate the end of my period" party. Pedi's, Bloody Marys and all around fun... who knows... maybe we'll bar hop like we were young (with a DD, of course)! Dec 3rd can't get here soon enough!

Love the idea. I, too, was thinking of a "Bon Voyage Uterus!" party--but my surgery is smack in the middle of the holidays I figured people are "partied" out!
