Please tell me it will get better

Listen to your body and all of the wonderful suggestions here. I think a heating pad helps the gas a lot. I had gas up in my shoulders in the hospital and the nurse gave me a heating pad....just for a short time. The suppositories helped a lot with the gas and also coating the hurting area after the bms. Deep breathing helped my gas pains and potty time too. Love yourself and keep feeling that you have every right to take care. Lotion is fun too. I'm into lavender aromatherapy right now......Makes the room smell good. Be good to yourself.

I'm 6 weeks today. I go back to work Monday. It will get better!!! My bowel movements were very painful.... I compaired it to glass moving through my insides. (Alot of pain for the small amount of poop that I'd have) I still get the swelly/sore belly now and even went to the mall to buy some elastic waist pants today to wear to work for awhile. Each day should get a little easier.

I know how you feel. I had my surgery on the 17th and i just want to know when I'll start feeling close to normal again. My back is killing me. I kept getting the fevers too. My doctor hasn't gotten the results back but she thinks I have a UTI also. That hurts, gas sends chills down my spine and BMs just about send me to my grave..LOL! Do you have numbness in your legs as well? I'm scared to eat because everything gives me gas and I know I wasn't this gassy before. What's up with that?

I had all the gas, and bad BM's too. Try Gas-X maybe that will help. My legs were never numb, but they did hurt and so did my back. Even at 6 weeks post surgery my stomach still gives me 'fits'. I'm normal one day, and running the next. However, the pain has gotten lots better.
