Paranoid About "Parts" Falling Out?

I had a TLH w/RSO on 2/12. I'm recooping ok, but am having a hard time getting my energy rolling. What plagues me? I'm scared half to death that my remaining "parts" will fall out once I get moving. I spoke w/my doctor a couple of days ago, who reassured me that I'm well stitched up, but will need time to heal. Losing my cervix has me altogether spooked. Can I get some reassurance from you girls out there that I can be active again one day without losing "something"? I'm normally active and eat pretty nutriciously (sp?). No hrt for now as other than my posted paranoia, I feel pretty good. Thanks for your help!

Paranoid About "Parts" Falling Out?

Hi AnnieO5!

I'm nearly seven years post-op and had my cervix removed as part of my hysterectomy. All this time later nothing has fallen down or out of me. It takes a while to heal well enough to trust that all will be well and then you won't give it another thought--at least that's been my experience!

Best wishes as your recovery continues!

Paranoid About "Parts" Falling Out?

April Dawn-
Wow 7 years post-op-Congratulations! I wasn't concerned about this prior to surgery even though the doctor was forthcoming on issues relative to hysterectomy. Thanks for your quick response and encouragement....I very much needed it!

Paranoid About "Parts" Falling Out?

Annie05,

I had my hysterectomy Nov. 12, 2008 and I have recovered very well. I am not to lift over 30 pounds due to the other three surgeries I had aloing with my hysterectomy.
My advice would be to follow your doctor's advice and don't stoop or bend, lift anything, wash cloths, sweep, mop, vaccum, straighten your bed, etc. one sister got on her hands and knees to clean up a spill and her cuff seperated and she had to be sewn up again.
If you take it easy and let your body tell you when to rest you should do alright. You will have days that you will be extremely tired and others you will find that you are very energetic, this is normal. Good luck on your recovery.
