Am I just nervous?

Hello all. I hope everyone is feeling good today! I just have sort of a strange question. I have had hot flashes on and off ever since 1997 when I first took Lupron. They have recently gotten worse, and often occur in the afternoon while I'm at work. I get very hot, it feels like my face is about to explode, and I feel light-headed and queasy. My cramps and other pains seem to be worsening too. Do you think any of this could be caused by nerves? My surgery is Feb 13th and I am anxious and worried about it, one of my friends suggested that my symptoms could be worsening and hot flashes coming along because of being so nervous. Just wondering if anyone has had similar problems.
Thanks
Jenny

I am not a medical professional

Hi Jenny

If you ask me I think the increased severity is due to the stress. Think of it this way, many women experience delayed, late, and missed periods when stressed or under new anxiety. And a hyst would certainly cause stress.

You are right to post the question. There is no better place to visit, ask, question, or discuss.

Other sisters will post soon with their opinion. Hang in there!

Am I just nervous?

I've heard of others and experienced myself the absolute WORST period of my life after I'd finally made the decision to get the hysterectomy.... Wonder how much of this is our body letting us know this really is the right thing to do? Or stress or our subconscious or some such....

All I can say, is hang in there! Try to relax if possible and know that this is all going to be better soon.

Best of luck and our thoughts are with you!
