When will my darned ovaries settle down?

Because they're completely haywire! It's like the PMS Channel in my body: all day, every day. In Hi-Def. The worst is these waves of sadness out of the blue, just hitting me like a freight train at unexpected times. It's almost a physical feeling, and there's nothing to do but ride it out - anywhere from a few seconds to fifteen minutes at a time. I know it's a hormonal thing, because it was a previous PMS symptom of mine.

So when will things get back on an even keel?

Also, an ovulation question. I've had my first round of ovulation, and it's much more painful than it was before. Pre-op, I could tell I was ovulation because of a mild stitch in my side feeling. Now I've still got the stitch, but it's more painful and lasts longer. Has anyone found ovulating to be painful post-op?

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

I am not sure when that will settle down. I was hoping for the PMS to go away. I would ask your Dr to be sure.

I have also ovulated for the first time since surgery and it was painful for me also. I feel blue from time to time but I am not sure if it isn't my boredom of being home all day long. I have had issues with depression before. I would definitly talk to the doc.

Good luck!!!

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

I am 3 weeks post op and going for my 4 week checkup on Friday. Planning on talking to the dr about my crying spells and all. I have also had issues with depression in the past and think I need to go back on my effexor. While I was on it before, it helped with my PMS> Have also ovulated and yes it hurt. But they hurt real bad to begin with. Was glad that there was no heavy uncontrollable bleeding that occured with it though. If things continue, please call your dr. No reason to be in all this pain!

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

Hello I wish that I could offer you some help. I am now 11 weeks post op and when I ovulate it is doubling me over in pain. I used to get the same as you pre op and the stitch in my side. But now it is one hundred times worse. Now my doctor said that he may have to go back in if it doesn't settle down in the nest couple of months. I have ovulated 3 times since surgery and it is horrible.

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

Tcupps, I'm on Effexor too, for S.A.D. Technically I should go off of it in the summer months, but withdrawal is such a nightmare, and I'm on a pretty small dose, so I just keep on year round.
I can't imagine what a mess I'd be without it at this point, with my wacky hormones!

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

Rubi,
It took me 5 or 6 weeks post op and suddenly I was normal again - thank goodness. I hope you have such good luck with your hormones.

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

Well, what is normal?! It was many months before my ovaries settled down. Now I guess I am normal. But as normal was never "regular" for me, I am not regular now! I may have extended bouts of PNS (pre nothing syndrome), my breasts may swell for several weeks at a time, pelvic pain may last until I am ready to go back to the dr, then it may all disappear for several weeks! The next few months I might have a more "normal" few days a month of emotions, swelling, pelvic aches, like a more normal cycle. So, my normal is not really normal! I was on b/c before my hyst that "regulated" the PMS symptoms, and if I did not have migraines, my gyn would give me b/c now to control the symptoms and make them more "normal." So you may wish to talk to your dr about some options, but it can be a few months before you know for sure everything is functioning and is going to remain functioning in a certain manner and cycle. Best wishes!

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

RubiTuesday- I can sympathize with you I had a TVH w/bladder repair on Nov 3 and my ovaries are still crazy or angry as my gyn said. She started me on a low dosed anti depressant to hopefully help, i've been told that it doesn't help that I have had issues with depression before. I am just taking it one day at a time. Hopefully it will be bettr soon. As far as ovulationg- well I have had such pain for 2 weeks now I wouldn't have known- couldn't stand it anymore so I went to the dr and found out I had a bladder infection. Best of luck with your recovery. Keep us posted how you are feeling.

When will my darned ovaries settle down?

Hello!
I can sympathize! I am a few days shy of 4 months post-op and I keep waiting for the "PMS" to get better and the ovulation pain to not be as bad. I talked to my doctor about the emotional roller coaster my ovaries have me on....is it normal to cry at dog food commercials???? He said it is a normal part of the adjustment following the hysterectomy and normally around 6 months things start to get better. I am sure it is different for everybody but when he said that I felt better! It made me feel like I was healing "normally" and not losing my ever-loving mind! Now I am not so hard on myself for the random crying jags either! Hang in there and know that you aren't alone!!!!
