Re: Feeling abandoned by the Gyn.

Thank you for your words. In fact I went today to my family practice seeking for help. She slowly did a check up with the speculum it hurts so much! She said I have a severe yeast infection due to the antibiotics & prescribed me Lamisil pills & Nystatine tablets. She also said to stop the Aveeno bath because the fungus develop faster in the moisture. I asked her about the burning inside the vagina she said that the tissues in the interior are puffy, swollen due to the traumatism from the surgery, she inserted some premarin cream.I really hope I get better.I can't believe what my Gyn has done? He did the surgery he should be responsible!!so frustated. Again, Thank you sisters.

Re: Vaginal Cuff healing Issues.

that totally blows!! but glad that your GP is on the ball. i have to ask, is your surgeon a man? i just have this preconceived notion that men just dont get it when it comes to women parts.
i really hope you feel better soon. maybe you ought to add some acidolphilus pills to your diet and a daily in take of yogurt.

Re: Vaginal Cuff healing Issues.

soleil -

I am glad that you hopefully are on the path to your next level of healing. It is so upsetting and stressful when you have these extra, unexpected events slow up your recovery.

Unfortunately some Dr.s, men or women, don't seem to have the bedside manners and listening skills that they really need. My gyn-onc is a man and he has been very supportive and attentive. On the other hand I have had a woman Dr I was consulting with be totally unsympathetic and not helpful.

Re: Vaginal Cuff healing Issues.

Soleil42: I had a TAH 5 weeks ago. My cervix was removed as well although ovaries left intact. I can tell you that I feel a throbbing sensation from my vaginal cuff when I have sat too long. I take showers and not baths yet as I wanted the cuff to heal fully. Epsom Salt does work great if you decide to take a bath with your doctor's ok. Also, you can buy these clay packs at Walmart near the heating pads. You put them in the freezer like an ice pack and they don't make the mess of melting ice but stay cold for up to 1 hr. I use those alot and it keeps the throbbing pain from my vaginal cuff at bay. Hope this helps some. Get well soon! Take Care!
